RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2019 - MACGREGORS
Pay negotiations with the company have concluded and the following offer has been tabled:-
• A 2% increase to rates of pay effective 1st April 2019.
For a second year in a row, the company are only prepared to offer a sub-inflation pay award to members at MacGregors. Obviously, they have forgotten last year’s dispute and that you and your colleagues have already demonstrated that you will not tolerate substandard pay awards. This shameless behaviour has left the RMT with little option but to ballot members our members at MacGregors for strike action and industrial action short of a strike. Accordingly, ballot papers will be despatched to your home addresses on Monday 25th March 2019 and the ballot will close on Thursday 11th April 2019. I have informed the company that the RMT remains available for talks and I hope that management will see sense and take the necessary steps to resolve this dispute.
This is your chance now to stand together with your colleagues by voting for strike action and industrial action short of a strike and to fight for a better pay rise and improvements to your terms and conditions. MacGregors should not be allowed to get away with treating you and your colleagues as some kind of disposable commodity that does not deserve to be paid a decent wage and treated with dignity.
