RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2019 – SERCO NORTHLINK FERRIES
In line with union policy, a pay claim for an increase in pay and improved terms and conditions was submitted to the company. The Regional Organiser has met with them and the following offer has been tabled:-
• An increase of 2.6%, effective 1st October 2019.
• Improvements to Maternity and Adoption policy by introducing 13 weeks at full pay, 13 weeks at half pay. 13 weeks at Statutory Maternity Pay and 13 weeks unpaid. All payments will be inclusive of the equivalent Statutory Maternity Pay/Allowance. To qualify for either Maternity or Adoption pay, members must be employed continuously for at least 26 weeks before the qualifying week.
• A continuation to recruit Deck and Engine Room apprentices.
• Training for both mandatory and developmental courses for Ratings will continue.
After careful consideration, the union’s National Executive Committee has instructed me to inform the company of our acceptance of the offer. This instruction has been carried out and I have requested that the increase and any back monies are paid at the earliest opportunity.
