RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2019 – SOUTHEASTERN (STATION STAFF, PASSENGER HOSTS, CONDUCTORS, ENGINEERING AND REVENUE PRODUCTION GRADES)

Further to previous correspondence on the above matter, I can confirm that your union is in receipt of the following pay offer:-

• A 3.08% increase in salaries and regional allowances for all Station Staff, Passenger Hosts, Conductors, Engineering and Revenue Production Grades with effect from Sunday 7th April 2019.

In addition to the above increase the company are proposing the following:-

Employees with more than 6 months continuous service with Southeastern, by the end of the fifteenth week before the expected week of childbirth:

• 26 weeks’ ordinary maternity leave.
• 26 weeks’ additional maternity leave.
• Up to 39 weeks’ maternity pay as follows:

Length of Service

Higher Rate CMP  (weeks at full basic pay)

Lower Rate CMP (Rates at lower SMP* rate)

Less than One years’ service

12 weeks

27 weeks

One years’ service or more

22 weeks

17 weeks



*SMP (currently the lesser of £140.98 a week or 90% of average weekly earnings)

• An increase of Paternity Entitlement of up to 3 weeks, with 2 weeks at full pay and 1 week at statutory pay.
• A working party will be created to discuss how Southeastern and the RMT can collaboratively improve and promote greater equality and diversity in the workplace

After careful consideration, the union’s National Executive Committee has instructed me to inform the company of our acceptance of the offer. This instruction has been carried out and I have requested that the increase and any back monies are paid at the earliest opportunity.
