Rates of Pay and Conditions of Service 2020 – Royal Fleet Auxiliary

Further to my letter dated 18th December 2020, I can advise you that arising from the acceptance of the 2020 pay award and following negotiations with our Representatives, the proposed breakdown of the RFA Shared Bonus Scheme is as follows:-

· Class 1 (Approx. 100) at £1200 = £120,000
· Trainees (Approx.200) at £300 = £60,000
· Employees (Approx.1510) at £900 = £1,359,000

The above represents an additional 1.9% to 4.5% increase for our members on top of the 2.5% pay award. As a comparator the breakdown of the RFA Shared Bonus Scheme in 2018/19 was as follows:-

· 96 Class £1500ea = £144,000
· 197 Trainees £300ea = £59,100
· All other employees (1,506 in 2019) £820ea =£1,234,920

Additionally, in 2018/19 101 employees did not qualify for the Bonus under that criterion.

After careful consideration, the union’s National Executive Committee has instructed me to advise the Royal Fleet Auxiliary of our acceptance of the proposed breakdown of the RFA Shared Bonus Scheme. This instruction has now been carried out. I would like to thank the Lead Officer and your Representatives for all their hard work, dedication and commitment throughout these pay talks.
