Rates of Pay & Conditions of Service 2020 – Stagecoach South Basingstoke

 

In line with union policy, a pay claim for an increase in pay and improved terms and conditions was submitted to the company. The Regional Organiser has met with them and the following offer has been tabled:-

 

Year One

 

  • An increase of 26p per hour from 3rd July 2019

 

Year Two

 

  • An increase of 19p per hour from 2nd July 2020.

  • For the 02/07/20 increase a 0.5% ‘tracker’ will apply. If CPI for May 2020 (published in June 2020) is between 1.2% and 2.2%, the above increase will continue to apply. If CPI is higher than 2.2%, the above rates will be adjusted upward in line with CPI figure less 0.5%.

 

  • Similarly if CPI is lower than 1.2%, the above rates will be adjusted downward in line with that CPI figure plus 0.5%

 

As it is against union policy to use CPI for pay negotiations as it does not reflect the true cost of living as it does not include mortgage or rent payments. RPI is the rate that your union has always insisted to be used for any pay increases as it does reflect the true cost of living and is therefore a greater percentage.

 

Your union’s National Executive Committee has instructed that a meeting at RMT Head Office is to be held with your representatives in attendance to discuss the issue fully. The meeting date is 29th January 2020 and I will keep you advised of further developments.
