8th July 2021

Dear Colleagues

RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2021 – MITIE (MERSEYRAIL HARD SERVICES CONTRACT)

In line with Union Policy a pay claim for an increase in pay and improved terms and conditions has been submitted. The Regional Organiser has met with the company and the following offer has been tabled:-

1.5% increase for all employees from 1st July 2021

Further benefits are as follows:-

Minimum £10,000 death in service payment for ALL hourly paid employees
£100 shares in the Company for the lowest paid employees
Extra days holiday last year (2020)
Flu jab and GP appointment

Your National Executive Committee (NEC) has carefully considered the offer and it has instructed me to hold an electronic referendum of all members so that you can have your say on this offer. Additionally, the NEC is recommending that you vote ‘YES’ to accept the offer as it is their firm belief that this is the best offer that can be achieved through negotiation. However, I must advise you that should you vote to reject this offer then the RMT will ballot you and your colleagues for industrial action.

The on-line referendum will close at 11:30 am on Thursday 15th July 2021.

Referendum Instructions

You will shortly receive an email from a company called “Choice Voting” which will allow you to register your vote. Please follow the instructions and make sure you complete this by no later than 11:30 am on Thursday 15th July 2021. Once you have voted, you will receive an email from Choice Voting confirming how you have voted and that your vote has been cast successfully.

If you know any of your colleagues who has not received this email, or if you have any difficulties voting please contact referenda@rmt.org.uk or the RMT Helpline on 0800 376 3706. If you do not receive your vote immediately, please check your junk/spam folders before contacting us for a replacement.

VOTE ‘YES’ TO ACCEPT THE OFFER

Yours sincerely
