RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2021 – STADLER RAIL (TYNE & WEAR METRO CONTRACT)

Further to previous correspondence on the above matter, I can report that the union’s negotiating team has met with the company and the following revised pay offer has been tabled:-

A one-off non-contractual payment of £750 tax-free for all weekly paid personnel to transfer to four weekly pay. Where individuals require assistance to manage the change, bridging loans will be made available.
For 2022, the negotiated settlement will be increased by a guaranteed 1% increment or a consolidated lump sum of £500 will be paid as a minimum, whichever is the greater increase in annual pay.
For the avoidance of doubt, all allowances are indexed.
This is a package deal; everyone will need to transfer to four weekly pay. Personnel that have already transferred to four weekly pay will receive the enhancement in the payment.

In light of these developments and having discussed this matter with the union's negotiating team, the union's National Executive Committee has agreed to suspend the planned strike action which was scheduled to start from 00:01 hours on Monday 28th June 2021. Consequently, members should book on for all of their shifts as normal next week.

The union will conduct an electronic referendum so that you can have you say on the offer. I will write again in the coming days to advise you of the details of the referendum.
