RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2021 – DHL WELHAM GREEN

Referring to our previous correspondence, I write to inform you that there have been fresh talks and your negotiating team have secured an improved offer which is as follows:-

YEAR ONE

2.7% increase on all rates (e.g. basic pay, shift premiums) backdated to 1st April 2021
Paid break - final 15-minute break to be paid from 1st January 2022
Sick pay - to increase from 75% basic pay to 100% basic pay from 1st January 2022 with two waiting days and company sick pay entitlement unchanged
Overtime - to increase from x1.15 to x1.25 from 1st January 2022

50 hour cap – Night Allowance

Following much discussion, I can confirm that this current element of the agreement will cease 30th September 2021 therefore commencing 1st October 2021 this cap will no longer exist.

YEAR TWO

An increase of RPI or 3.0% whichever is the greater on all rates (e.g. basic pay, shift premiums) from 1st April 2022
Overtime – to increase from x1.25 to x1.35 from 1st October 2022

For clarification purposes, the company confirms they agree to use the February 2022 RPI figure, announced by the Office of National Statistics (ONS) in March 2022 to determine the Year Two element of the Pay Offer - RPI or 3%, whichever is greater.

In addition, DHL & their Customer have agreed to support the Driver Retention Incentive, providing drivers who meet certain eligibility criteria a £2,000 retention incentive payable in January 2022. All colleagues who are employed as of the 1st July 2021 will also be receiving a one-time corona bonus of €300 in the 4th quarter of 2021. These payments do not form part of the 2021 pay discussions.

Your National Executive Committee (NEC) has carefully considered the offer and it has instructed that an e-referendum must be held so that you can have your say on the offer. The NEC is also recommending that you vote ‘YES’ to accept the offer as it is our firm belief that this is the best offer that can be achieved in the current climate.
