Weekend working

12% allowance paid on hours worked on rostered weekend for current Placemakers, only for existing staff move to a 5 from 7 roster.

The following items also apply:

  • Weekend working requirements will be finalised and shared. The company will seek volunteers, from existing workforce, to move onto a rota with weekend working, any hours worked on a weekend will receive the above 12% allowance for the hours worked on a Saturday/Sunday for existing staff.
  • New Job Descriptions will be circulated and shared. The company will exclude Placemakers on Jarvis and Blue Book terms from any compulsory changes in relation to weekend rostering. Those Placemakers can volunteer to be included in the change.
  • ISS reserve the right to appoint all new starters onto 5/7 (rather than Monday-Friday) contracts. The above weekend working allowance would not be applicable to these contracts. This requirement would be considered on business need at the time
  • The company will risk assess across all routes to ensure that we are not attending high risk stations during darkness. The company will also assess which stations need two person teams at all times. ISS are currently undertaking a review of lone workers to ensure the health and wellbeing of our teams
  • The company will include the new Depot staff into negotiations and the collective agreement once the contract is agreed and finalised. Terms and conditions of those Placemakers will be shared with RMT
  • There is currently no proposed change to the Engineering on call rota
  • The company will require all SMT’s to be placed on the on-call rota, but individuals will be able to request someone to substitute for them, with local management agreement, ensuring there is cover at all times. ISS reserve the right to inform staff, when needed, that they must be on call, based on business requirements with a minimum of 2 weeks’ notice, for example where there is no holiday/sickness cover
  • Supervisors are moving to monthly pay and will be considered Junior Managers with a salary of £30,225. They have agreed to the new job description and terms.
  • Over the duration of the contract, those who are paid above the standard rate for their job role will be brought in line with their peers. This will be achieved by awarding a lesser increase to their peers to reduce the gap year on year. They will not be excluded from pay reviews.
