Rates of Pay and Conditions of Service 2023 – Drivers, Great Western Railway (Heathrow Express Contract)

 

Following a series of long and protracted talks at the at Drivers Divisional Council, a package of pay, terms and conditions for Heathrow Express Contract Drivers has been proposed.  

 

A summary of the proposals is as follows:

 

Pay Changes

 

• An increase of £2500 a year backdated to 1^st April 2023
• Existing arrangements in relation to overtime and rest day pay remain unchanged.
• Pay and admin arrangements have been included, including sick pay and expenses.

 

Terms and Conditions-Key Changes

 

Traction-Hex Drivers will be required to work any traction/routes allocated to the HEX operation where trained and competent to do so without requiring additional payment or enhancements.

 

Terms and Conditions (General)

 

The new handbook reflects several changes that align HEX T&Cs with GWR’s where there was not a defined HEX T&C including rostering and resourcing processes.

Having carefully considered the proposals, your National Executive Committee has instructed me to hold an e-referendum of you and your colleagues so that you can have your say on the revised offer and I urge you to use your vote.

 

The on-line referendum will close at 9am on Thursday 14^th March 2024.
