Rates of Pay and Conditions of Service 2023 – Carlisle Support Services (Northern Trains Revenue and Gateline Contract)

 

Referring to previous correspondence, I am sure you will have seen the latest communication from Carlisle Support Services regarding our current pay dispute. Let me make this clear, it is only the RMT that will settle the terms of this dispute, not any other trade union. We can only agree a settlement to this dispute with the full engagement of Carlisle Support Services at the negotiating table. We are not prepared hide behind ACAS.

 

Carlisle Support Services failed to resolve all the pay issues in 2023, hence, our dispute started in 2023 and this dispute will continue through 2024 until we reach a satisfactory conclusion. It is clear that the management’s communication is designed to hoodwink RMT members into agreeing to an uplift in April 2024 when the real living wage foundation is implemented.

 

Do not believe the management spin. In the absence of any offer, we have no choice but to continue our fight. Remember industrial action starts next week: 

 

Members are be instructed not to book on for any shifts that commence between:

 

• 00:01 hours on Wednesday 21^st February 2024 and 23:59 hours on Thursday 22^ndFebruary 2024

 

Additionally, all members are instructed to take continuous industrial action short of a strike as outlined below: 

 

• Not to charge any work equipment at home, including mobile phones, body cams and printers from 00:01 hours on Friday 23^rd February until further notice.

 

I ask that members remain resilient and show solidarity. You should stand shoulder to shoulder with your colleagues during this industrial action. 

 

Since this dispute began, the union has always been available for talks to resolve this entirely avoidable dispute, and we continue to remain available to find a meaningful resolution.
