Dear Colleagues

Rates of Pay and Conditions of Service 2023 – Carlisle Support Services (Northern Trains Revenue and Gateline Contract)

You and your colleagues have already taken part in three days of strike action and shown fantastic support for this fight for improved pay and conditions by standing firm on the picket lines and attending the strike rallies.

Having consulted with your RMT Representatives, your Lead Officer reported the unanimous view to name two further strike days in this dispute. The National Executive Committee has considered this matter and called the following strike action:

You are instructed not to book on for any shifts that commence between:

  • 00:01 hours and 23:59 hours on Wednesday 10th April 2024
  • 00:01 hours and 23:59 hours on Saturday 13th April 2024

To comply with legal advice the continuous instruction not to charge any work equipment at home, including mobile phones, body cams and printers is suspended for the duration of the strikes but will commence again immediately after each strike action has concluded.

I have also written to Carlisle Support Services again to advise them that the Union remains available to meet at any time. The offer of a voluntary recognition agreement and talks to resolve the issues of this dispute – the timegate application, rates of pay and continued employment of staff on zero hour contracts – would allow RMT to reconsider our campaign of industrial action.

STAND FIRM TOGETHER

SUPPORT YOUR UNION – SUPPORT THE STRIKE ACTION

Yours sincerely

Michael Lynch
