RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2023 – HARSCO RAIL (STONEBLOWER CONTRACT)

 

I am writing to report to you on an important development concerning pay talks at Balfour Beatty Rail Plant which has relevance to you and your colleagues on the Stoneblower Contract at Harsco.

 

Members may be aware that an agreement was recently reached with Balfour Beatty (Rail Plant) to conclude the outstanding pay negotiations for 2023.  This is of course relevant to our Harsco Rail (Stoneblower Contract) members who until the point of TUPE transfer in May 2023 were employees of Balfour Beatty and included under the scope of the negotiations.

 

As agreement had not been reached at the point of transfer, there understandably is a strong view that arrears for the period from 1^st January 2023 till the transfer date should now be sought from the former employer for those affected.

 

Your Regional Organiser has written to Balfour Beatty seeking an assurance that pay arrears will be honoured by the former employer and I will of course keep you informed of any further developments in this regard.
