Rates of Pay and Conditions of Service 2023 – Rail Gourmet (Eurostar Contract)

 

Your RMT negotiating team have been in discussions with Rail Gourmet this week and the Company proposed the following offer:

 

• A 3.8% pay increase for all staff currently on the £13.15 hourly rate, with a new hourly rate of £13.65. This would be implemented from 1^st August 2024 and precede the annual pay review by the Real Living Wage Foundation

 

RMT responded that the offer only covers approximately 75% of the workforce, the issue of a lump sum payment to cover the services over the Olympics has not been addressed, the offer is potentially offset by future Living Wage predictions and is therefore unacceptable.

 

This matter has been considered by the National Executive Committee which has taken the decision to advise the Company of our rejection of this offer. As always, RMT remains available for further talks to resolve this dispute.

 

The strike action due to commence next week therefore remain in place and members are instructed not to book onfor any shifts that commence between:

 

•  06:00 hours on Wednesday 24^th July 2024 and 05:59 hours on Saturday 3^rd August 2024 

 

I have no doubt that our members will support the above strike action and show Rail Gourmet and Eurostar that we are determined to continue our fight for pay justice.
