Dear Colleague,
RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2023 – STORY PLANT
Your negotiating team have been involved in ongoing pay discussions with your employer in order to secure a reasonable pay increase for 2024. However, despite the union’s best efforts, Story Plant has failed to offer you and your colleagues a reasonable pay rise, instead presenting a series of derisory, below-inflation increases that do not reflect the value of the essential work you and your colleagues do.
The latest pay proposals from the company were overwhelmingly rejected by members in a referendum, however no further offer has yet been forthcoming.
Your National Executive Committee has considered the matter and it has concluded that this situation is unacceptable, and therefore you and your colleagues will be balloted for industrial action.
Ballot papers will be despatched by the independent scrutineer next Wednesday 19th June 2024 and will arrive at your home address after this date.
I urge you not to waste your vote and to vote 'YES' for strike action and 'YES' for industrial action short of a strike, when your ballot arrives, and to return it as quickly as possible.
If your employer, job title, or home address has recently changed, please email info@rmt.org.uk or call the freephone helpline on 0800 376 3706 to update this information.
Yours sincerely
Michael Lynch
General Secretary
