Rates of Pay and Conditions of Service 2023 - Bidvest Noonan (Alstom Northern Trains Ltd and TransPennine Express Contracts)

 

Referring to previous correspondence, I can report that the strike action on 4^th and 5^th March 2024 was solidly supported by RMT members at Manchester and Glasgow Traincare Centres. However, I can report that I have received notification from Bidvest Noonan that the Alstom Northern Trains contract will transfer to OCS on 1^st April 2024. Consequently, OCS will take over the Alstom Northern Trains members’ employment contracts, including: all the previous rates of pay and terms and conditions of employment. Members who are on the Alstom TransPennine Express will remain with Bidvest Noonan.

 

As members are transferring on to OCS on 1^st April 2024, and this ballot was aggregated across the Northern Trains and TransPennine Express contracts, the ballot mandate will become invalid at the point of transfer. As members contract are currently participating in continuous industrial action short of a strike, the union’s National Executive Committee has had to take the decision to suspend all the industrial action from 23:59 hours on Sunday 31^st March 2024. Consequently, members are now instructed to work as normal from midnight on Sunday.

 

I would like to thank all members at Manchester and Glasgow Traincare Centres for their support during the pay dispute. I understand that it is hugely frustrating that this dispute has ended with a whimper, but members should be proud that they stood up to win pay justice.   

 

The union intends to continue fighting for pay justice for all members on the Alstom train cleaning contracts and I will write to all members at OCS and Bidvest Noonan after the transfer has taken place explaining how the RMT intends to proceed.
