Dear RMT Member

RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2023 – CLESHAR (LUL EAST LONDON LINE CONTRACT)

Final discussions have now taken place with Cleshar and the offer is confirmed as follows:

  • April 2023/24 – A 4.5% increase to basic salary and overtime rates, plus a 1-hour reduction in the working week (40 to 39 hours)

  • April 2024/25 – A 3% increase to basic salary and overtime rates plus a 1-hour reduction in the working week to be applied at the same time as the hour above, so a 40 to 38 hour working week, which may be averaged over a roster cycle.

Should CPI be at exceptional levels for the 2024 anniversary date, and if Cleshar obtain greater than 3% from its client, the Company has agreed to return to further talks.

The rosters associated with this offer for each affected team are as follows:

  • Agreement reached on the FMT Version

  • Track and Off-Track – The roster with 6 additional rostered rest day per year (1 in 8 weeks) remains. This would apply pro-rata to any part-time / reduced hours staff.

  • The FRC team will work to an average 35 hour working week, which may be over an annual cycle.

Additionally, Cleshars has authorised payment of a loyalty bonus for the group of 8 staff referred to as the Surrey Quays 8, this bonus is intended to equate to any backpay due since 2nd April 2023. In return, staff will be required to sign an agreement that these monies are repaid in the even the staff leave the Company (other than for redundancy or other reasonable basis) before the end of 28th March 2025.

A consultation of affected members has taken place and this matter has been considered by the National Executive Committee, which has taken the decision to inform the Company of our acceptance of the offer. I have asked that the increase and backdated monies are paid to you and your colleagues at the earliest opportunity.

Yours sincerely
