TO ALL MEMBERS AT HITACHI NORTH POLE DEPOT AND LNER (BOUNDS GREEN, CRAIGENTINNY & DONCASTER)

 

Dear RMT Member,

 

RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2023 - HITACHI RAIL (LNER & NORTH POLE)

 

This morning, the Union received a revised offer from Hitachi. All members at Hitachi North Pole Depot, Bounds Green, Craigentinny and Doncaster Depots are urged to attend the zoom meeting at 2pm today to discuss this offer, which is as follows:

 

For Legacy sites (Craigentinny and Bounds Green):

 

  • Year 1 - 6% on basic pay plus any allowances that are based on a percentage of salary (e.g. Shift Allowance) effective from 1st April 2023 plus a Lump Sum Payment of £500 covering FY 23/24

 

  • Year 2 – 5.2% on basic plus any allowances that are based on a percentage of salary (e.g. Shift Allowance) plus a reduction of 100 reserve hours * effective from 1st April 2024 covering FY 24/25

 

  • Year 3 – RPI % increase on basic plus any allowances that are based on a percentage of salary (e.g.  Shift Allowance) equivalent to the published December 2024 RPI figure (subject to a minimum payment of 2% and a maximum cap of 6%) plus a further reduction of 100 reserve hours * effective from 1st April 2025 covering FY 25/26

 

*    Legacy employees who are not in receipt of Reserved Hours will receive the £1,500 lump sum payment as detailed in the final offer. This also applies to any employees on Hitachi contracts who are based at Craigentinney and Bounds Green.

 

For Hitachi Sites (Doncaster and North Pole):

 

  • Year 1 - 6% on basic pay plus any allowances that are based on a percentage of salary (e.g. Shift Allowance) effective from 1st April 2023 plus a £1,500 Lump Sum payment covering FY 23/24 plus

 

  • Year 2 – 5.2% on basic plus any allowances that are based on a percentage of salary (e.g. Shift Allowance) covering FY 24/25

 

  • Year 3 – RPI % increase on basic plus any allowances that are based on a percentage of salary (e.g.  Shift Allowance) equivalent to the published December 2024 RPI figure (subject to a minimum payment of 2% and a maximum cap of 6%) effective from 1st April 2025 covering FY 25/26

 

The offer is final and subject to a full recommendation, a pay referendum for all affected members and suspension of the planned strike action and action short of strike action including the bans on overtime and rest day working.
