Dear RMT Member,
RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2023 – HITACHI RAIL (LNER & LONDON NORTH POLE DEPOT)
A revised offer has this afternoon been received from the company, applicable to all Hitachi members at Bounds Green, Craigentinny, Doncaster, and London North Pole Maintenance Depots.
Having carefully considered the views of your Lead Officers and Company Council Representatives, the Union’s National Executive Committee has instructed me to hold an e-referendum of you and your colleagues, with a recommendation to vote ‘YES’ to accept the offer.
The referendum will close at 10:00am on Thursday 29th February 2024.
The revised offer from the company is below:
For Legacy sites (CRAIGENTINNY and BOUNDS GREEN):
- Year 1 - 6% on basic pay plus any allowances that are based on a percentage of salary (e.g. Shift Allowance) plus a £1,000 Lump Sum payment plus an additional day annual leave effective from 01 April 2023 for FY 23/24. Please note – the offer of an extra day for annual leave applies only to the year 23/24 and does not increase overall annual leave entitlements.
The offer also includes the removal of the Attendance Allowance restriction which means future payments will be based on a calculation of 100% as opposed to the current rate of 93%. This will be applied from 01 April 2024.
- Year 2 – 5.2% on basic plus any allowances that are based on a percentage of salary (e.g. Shift Allowance) plus a £250 Lump Sum payment plus a reduction of 100 reserve hours plus an additional day annual leave effective from 01 April 2024 for FY 24/25. Please note – the offer of an extra day for annual leave applies only to the year 24/25 and does not increase overall annual leave entitlements.
- Year 3 – RPI % increase on basic plus any allowances that are based on a percentage of salary (e.g. Shift Allowance) equivalent to the published December 2024 RPI figure (subject to a minimum payment of 2% and a maximum cap of 6%) plus a £250 Lump Sum payment plus a further reduction of 100 reserve hours effective from 01 April 2025 covering FY 25/26.
