RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2023 – HITACHI RAIL LTD (OUTSTATIONS & MAINTENANCE CONTROL)
STRIKE ACTION & ACTION SHORT OF STRIKE
Hitachi Rail have yet again failed to put forward a reasonable offer that meets your expectations. Further negotiations have taken place, however no improved offer has been forthcoming from the company. The derisory offer has already been rejected by members as it did not meet your aspirations, and following consultation with your representatives, it is clear that you wish to demonstrate that this situation is unacceptable.
Therefore, the National Executive Committee is calling on all affected members on the Outstations & Maintenance Control contract to take the following strike action and industrial action short of a strike:
Members are instructed not to book on for any shifts that commence between:
- 05:59 hours on Saturday 27th January 2024 until 05:58 hours on Thursday 1st February 2024
Furthermore, members are instructed to take industrial action short of a strike as outlined below:
- Not to work any overtime or rest day working from 05:59 hours on Tuesday 23rd January 2024 until 05:58 hours on Saturday 27th January 2024
- Not to work any overtime or rest day working from 05:59 hours on Thursday 1st February 2024 until further notice
Members who are facing financial hardship as a result of taking strike action can approach their union Branch and/or Regional Council for assistance in this matter. Funds have been made available to assist striking members experiencing hardship due to industrial action.
I urge you to continue to stand firm together and support the industrial action until this matter is resolved. I will keep you advised of all further developments.
