RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2023 – RAIL GOURMET (EUROSTAR CONTRACT)

 

Tripartite talks involving your union, Rail Gourmet and Eurostar officials were scheduled to take place this morning in an attempt to win an improved offer from the company and avoid industrial action, which is due to commence at 06:00 hours tomorrow (Friday 19^th April).

 

It is with dismay that I have to advise you that Eurostar failed to attend the planned meeting, withdrawing at the last minute without providing any reason.

 

However, talks did proceed between your union representatives and Rail Gourmet alone and your reps again reiterated the demands for improved pay, but no offer was made. Despite the interest shown, Rail Gourmet seemed intent on accepting the upcoming strikes.

 

Your union’s National Executive Committee therefore considered this matter and took the decision that the strike action should remain on. As a reminder, you are instructed not to book on for any shifts which commence between:

 

• 06:00 hours on Friday 19^th April 2024 and 05:59 hours on Tuesday 23^rd April 2024

 

You and your colleagues have shown your determination by voting YES during the democratic process of the ballot. I have no doubt that you will show that commitment in the fight for pay justice by taking strike action over the coming days.
