RMT CALLS STRIKE ACTION ON WORLD MARITIME DAY
Dear Colleagues
Rates of Pay and Conditions of Service 2023 – Royal Fleet Auxiliary
Further to previous correspondence, the National Executive Committee has considered this matter and is calling the following strike action:
- If your ship is in port then members are instructed not to ‘turn to’ (book on) for any duty that commences between 08:00 hours on Tuesday 3rd September 2024 and 07:59 hours on Wednesday 4th September 2024.
NB: During the above period of strike action members must ensure that the safety of the ship is maintained, including Moorings and Gangways, at all times. |
I can report that this union still has not received any formal pay proposals from either the MoD or the RFA. This is not acceptable and there has been insufficient progress from the RFA and MoD in terms of meeting our simple demand for pay justice.
You all demonstrated outstanding solidarity during the previous stoppages which have brought the fleet to a standstill. I urge you all to come together again and demand better in this landmark fight for pay justice. Further information will be distributed to members on picketing locations and members should speak with their shipboard representatives for further information.
The union remains ready for meaningful negotiations with on the issues in dispute and we urge the RFA and the MoD to make improved proposals at the earliest opportunity.
HARD WORK DESERVES FAIR PAY
SUPPORT THE ACTION
UNITY IS STRENGTH
Yours sincerely
Michael Lynch
