Rates of Pay and Conditions of Service 2023 – Royal Fleet Auxiliary

Our Ref: SH/0001/RFA

22nd January 2024

Dear Colleagues

Rates of Pay and Conditions of Service 2023 – Royal Fleet Auxiliary

You may have seen an article in the press over the weekend regarding the current industrial ballot of RFA members. This article misrepresents comments which were made by the RMT’s Senior Assistant General Secretary. Let me assure you that RFA members are being balloted over pay and nothing more. This is a clear attempt to undermine your efforts to achieve a mandate for an improved offer on pay. Your union has never claimed that this dispute is related to politics or foreign policy decisions.

You should now have received your ballot paper for industrial action which was posted to you on Monday 15th January 2024. It is vital that we achieve the highest possible turnout so that we can meet the thresholds demanded by the current strict legislation. I urge you to vote ‘YES’ for action in overwhelming numbers to demand that the RFA returns to the table with an improved offer.

If you have not yet returned your voting paper, then please do so as a matter of urgency. If you have not yet received your voting paper, then please contact the RMT freephone helpline immediately on 0800 376 3706 or email info@rmt.org.uk to receive a replacement ballot paper.

Important Please Note:  The independent scrutineer for RMT Ballots and Elections is 'Civica Election Services'.

Letters from Civica are not Junk Mail and should be opened.

Yours sincerely

Michael Lynch

General Secretary
