RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2024 – ALSTOM METRO TRAINS
A meeting of representatives from around various Alstom contracts, along with RMT officials, was recently held to discuss the pay negotiations from this year. As you will recall, a referendum of you and your colleagues on the Alstom Metro Trains contract was held in June, in which a majority voted to accept.
Following the meeting last week and taking into account the vote to accept, your union’s National Executive Committee (NEC) has considered the matter and instructed me to advise the company of our acceptance of the offer as it applies to the Metro Trains contract.
For clarity, the offer which was accepted by members was as follows:
- A 4% increase to basic rates of pay, backdated to 1st April 2024
- Annual Leave Year changed from April to March, to January to December. Pre-booked holidays will be honoured along with pro-rata calculations during the transition year
- Assistance with travel costs up to £1612 for an annual season ticket, subject to conditions
Your company has now been advised of this acceptance and I have requested the implantation of the new pay rates as soon as possible.
As well as formally accepting the pay offer, your NEC has also instructed me to convene a further meeting of relevant union officers to co-ordinate RMT organisation at Alstom and provide a report on this matter. Additionally, I have been instructed to convene a further meeting of your representatives to consider a joint pay claim for all Alstom contracts throughout the country or for a single-table negotiation in the next pay round.
I will of course keep you advised of any further developments in the matter, but I trust this keeps you updated for now.
