11th April 2024

Dear RMT Member,

RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2024 – AMEY RAIL

In line with Union Policy, a pay claim for an increase in pay and improved terms and conditions has been submitted to the company. Your negotiators have had talks with the company and an offer has been received for:

  • A 4.9% pay award with an underpin of £1,650 to be applied to basic salary plus agreed allowances to be backdated to 1st March 2024
  • A 6-month period of no compulsory redundancies, within Rail Operations subject to redeployment options.
  • In addition, the company have confirmed the introduction of a policy working group for 2024, an increase to maternity and adoption leave to 18 weeks full pay, from 12 weeks full pay followed by 6 weeks at half pay, and an increase to paternity leave to 2 weeks full pay from 1 week.

Having carefully considered the offer and the views of your Regional Organiser, that this is the best offer achievable through negotiation, the union’s National Executive Committee has instructed me to hold an e-referendum of you and your colleagues so that you can have the final say on this offer. Members are advised that a rejection of this offer will lead to a ballot for strike action and action short of a strike.

The referendum will close at 11:00 am on Tuesday 23rd April 2024.
