Rates of Pay and Conditions of Service 2024 – Caledonian MacBrayne 

 

Referring to previous correspondence, pay talks have been re-convened and the following improved offer has been tabled:

 

• A 3.5% increase in salary to all employees which will be fully consolidated and pensionable. This will be backdated to the 1^st October 2024. 
• A £300 consolidated cash payment to shore based Nightwatchmen, Retail Assistants and Cleaners. 
• To Align annual leave to 37 days (including public holidays) for all shore-based staff 
• This is a one-year offer. 

 

This increased offer to 3.5% is based on the removal of any future discretionary bonus payments. Further to this, CalMac and the RMT have agreed to commit to discussing further terms of our pay claim and the union has agreed to set up a joint working party to discuss finding further operational efficiencies.

 

I am in receipt of a report from your Lead Officer, who notes that the 3.5% offer is equal to inflation at the anniversary date. Having consulted with the union’s negotiating team, your Lead Officer is recommended that the union conducts a referendum of affected members with a recommendation that you and your colleagues vote to accept this offer. 

 

The matter will be placed before the union’s National Executive Committee on Tuesday 15^thOctober 2024 and I will advise you of their decision at the earliest available opportunity.
