Rates of Pay and Conditions of Service 2024 – DFDS

 

I am writing to advise you that an initial pay meeting has taken place with DFDS. No offer was tabled at the meeting, however, management advised that they do expect to present your union with a formal offer within the next 14 days.

 

The union has also taken this opportunity to discuss our collective bargaining procedures. DFDS has acknowledged that our agreements which cover the Dunkerque Seaways, Delft Seaways and Dover Seaways are out of date. Your Lead Officer, Darren Procter wants to put together a working party to improve our collective bargaining agreement and bring it up to date. This will hopefully allow your union to identify potential shipboard Representatives, as this is an area that RMT has struggled with for some time at DFDS.

 

For some years now, the RMT has lacked both industrial and health and safety Representatives at DFDS. It is a priority for your union to have Representatives on every vessel. I can report that in conversations with the company on this issue, DFDS are supportive of the RMT seeking shipboard Representatives and will offer assistance to ensure that members are able to volunteer and be elected as RMT Representatives. If you are interested in becoming either an industrial and health and safety Representative, please email d.procter@rmt.org.uk to register your interest.
