Dear RMT Member
RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2024 – FIRST SOUTH WEST
The referendum has now concluded with members voting as follows:
Total Votes Cast… 205
Number Voting Option A… 39
Number Voting Option B… 107
Number Rejecting Both… 59
This matter has been considered by the National Executive Committee, which has taken the decision to advise the Company of our acceptance of Option B. I have asked that the increase, along with backdated monies, is paid at the earliest opportunity.
For your ease of reference, the accepted offer is as follows:
- A 70p increase for all grades, taking drivers pay rate to £13.70, backdated to 1st April 2024 (anniversary date). This represents a 5.4% increase.
- From the October timetable changes, drivers only headline rate increase to £14.02 (£15.02 overtime) for trading out inefficiencies within the 2013 terms and condition agreement. These being:
- Reducing the sign on/off times for duties if not doing First User check within the rotas of Somerset and Cornwall
- Paying in machine in Taunton High Street to have as a sign off location
Also, clarification has since been received that the hourly rate increase applies to all hours worked for all grades including all contracted hours and overtime and rest day working. Furthermore, that the offer is backdated to the first Sunday of the anniversary date, in this case being Sunday 31st March 2024.
The 70p increase for all grades applies to all contracted and overtime hours worked (no strings). This takes drivers pay to £13.70 per hour (£14.70 overtime rate), both backdated to 31st March 2024. This represents a 5.4% (and 5% overtime rate) pay increase.
From the October timetable changes, for trading terms and conditions, a 1 minute reduction to booking on time and booking off time for duties not involving a first user check, and a paying in machine in Taunton High Street. This will take drivers pay to £14.02 per hour (and £15.02 overtime rate).
Yours sincerely
