RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2024 – FREIGHTLINER HEAVY HAUL
The referendum of members on the company’s pay offer has concluded and the result is as follows:

Total votes cast 176
Number voting YES 156
Number voting NO 20
Your union’s National Executive Committee has noted the result and thanks you and your colleagues, along with your representative, for taking part and securing this improved offer from the company.
For clarity, the offer which has been accepted is as follows:
All Grades
- An increase of 3.0% to basic pay and applicable allowances and backdated from 1st October 2023 to 30th September 2024.
Boulby Groundstaff (“ex-DBC”)
- For the small number of employees affected by TUPE transfer, these will be transferred to current Heavy Haul Terms and Conditions, and with associated back pay on revised rates effective from 1st October 2023.
Implementation of the pay offer is conditional on the acceptance of the following business performance items:
Use of OMNIA
Where applicable, all grades will be required to use OMNIA to undertake the following duties subject to the appropriate training/briefing and equipment being made available:
- Book on and (where applicable) book off duty
- When available, review and access timesheets
- Report fuel levels where applicable
- Submit incident reports
- Place requests for uniform
- When available, use and access online fault/ logbooks for locomotives
The provision of training and access to ipads etc will be reviewed, discussed and agreed by the Business Council on a regular basis. Where an individual is not able to use the methods above then alternative methods, such as use of telephones, will still be available.
The company will be advised of this result and I shall request that all monies and back pay to be paid as soon as is practically possible.
