Rates of Pay and Conditions of Service 2024 – Harwich International Port 

 

In line with union policy, a pay submission for an increase in pay and improved terms and conditions has been submitted. The Regional Organiser has met with the company and the following offer has been tabled:

 

• 4.5% increase on basic pay rates (basic 1 and basic 2) and variability payments effective from 1^st January 2024. Calculations for both roster premium and overtime payments are generated from the hourly rate, so both will attract the full effect of this increase.
• Additionally, the roster premium calculation will be altered to include an additional uplift to the fixed element. The fixed element will be increased by £120 for a PO grade ships team equivalent to 0.3% effective 1^st January 2024 and all other teams will be adjusted in the same manner.

 

Following a shant meeting, the union’s National Executive Committee has instructed me to inform the company of our acceptance of the offer. This instruction has been carried out and I have requested that the increase is paid at the earliest opportunity. I would like to place on record my thanks to the union’s negotiating team for all their hard work throughout this process.
