Rates of Pay and Conditions of Service 2024 – OCS (Alstom TPE Contract)
In line with union policy, a submission for an increase in pay and improved terms and conditions has been presented. The Regional Organiser has met with the company and the following offer has been tabled:
- All members in the bargaining units were uplifted to a minimum of the UK Real Living Wage (RLW) on 1st June 2024 plus pay differentials were maintained between roles.
- OCS have previously agreed to settle the historic backpay dispute relating to the UK RLW.
- OCS introduced a new payment for CET/Tanking duties of £6.25 per shift with effect from 1st June 2024
- OCS have offered to increase the Team Leader role rate of pay at Polmadie to £13.00 per hour backdated to 1st April 2024.
- The company has proposed the introduction of a Fatality Cleaning Payment in line with other OCS teams for client approval for TPE. The company are still waiting for sign off at this point.
- OCS have offered to review the Supervisor and Team Leader job roles specification, but a change proposal is not guaranteed.
- Paid time off on full hourly rate of pay for a period of up to 2 weeks for an accident at work reported as RIDDOR not covered by a personal injury claim. Supporting documentation must be provided upon request to approve payment.
Your union’s National Executive Committee has noted a report received from your Regional Organiser and taken the decision to conduct an electronic referendum of affected members.
Additionally, the National Executive Committee is strongly recommending that you vote ‘YES’ to accept these proposals. It is the belief of your National Executive Committee these proposals represent the best achievable through negotiation. The online referendum will close at 10am on Tuesday 27th August 2024.

Members will shortly receive an email from 'RMT Referenda' which will allow you to register your vote. Please follow the instructions and make sure you complete this by no later than 10:00 hours on Tuesday 27th August 2024.
