RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2024 – PETERSON (UK) LTD (HEYSHAM PORTS)

 

Protracted negotiations have taken place with Peterson over this year’s pay claim and matters escalated to the final stage of the dispute resolution procedure. Following the latest meeting, the company now presented a final position and stuck to its corporate board decision of nothing more than a consolidated increase of 3%. However, the company has now tabled two conditional bonus payments, and the full offer is as follows:

 

Pay Review

  • The Company propose a 3% inflationary increase effective from 1st January 2024 – this is applicable to base rate, overtime rates and on call allowance

 

Bonus Payments

  • The Company propose to make a £500.00 net payment on notification that it receives preferred bidder status for Spirit Energy Contract
  • A further £250.00 net payment on written receipt of the bid being successful with the Spirit Energy Contract. For any employee that chooses to attend the summer barbeque, the £250.00 net payment will not be eligible

 

Your negotiators are aware that you and your colleagues do not consider this offer as ideal, but they have also reported that there isn’t a majority in favour of balloting for industrial action, and that a majority, although reluctantly, wish to accept and rebuild for the 2025 pay and conditions claim.

 

This recommendation was therefore put to your union’s National Executive Committee, which endorsed this view and formally instructed me to advise the company of our acceptance. The company has now been advised and I would expect early implementation of the new pay rates.
