Dear RMT Member,
RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2024 – STORY PLANT
Further to ongoing discussions with the company, fresh negotiations have taken place between your union and employer to attempt to secure a reasonable pay offer for you and your colleagues. The following revised pay offers have been tabled by Story Plant:
Option A
Proposal to change the pay rules to pay rostered hours.
- Rostered hours will be paid
- Guaranteed minimum hours will remain in place where a shift is rostered for less than the normal guaranteed minimum
- Current travel and lodge travel rules will remain based on rostered hours
- Colleagues will record their actual worked hours
- 3.5% pay increase to all rates listed in the original proposal
- No further increases to steel on steel payments
OR
Option B
Improved percentage increase to include steel on steel.
- 3.5% increase to basic rate, nights and weekends
- 1.5% increase to steel on steel
- No further increases to steel on steel payments
- Colleague will record their actual hours and guaranteed hours will be paid where actual worked hours are less than these.
The amendments to lodge travel that are now in place would mean no further percentage increase to lodge travel in 24/25.
Having carefully considered the matter, your union’s National Executive Committee has instructed me to hold an e-referendum of you and your colleagues, with a recommendation to vote for ‘OPTION C’ TO REJECT BOTH OFFERS.
Members are advised that a rejection of these offers will lead to a dispute and a ballot for industrial action.
The referendum will close at 11:00 am on Tuesday 28th May 2024.
