Rates of Pay and Conditions of Service 2024 – Wilts & Dorset (Engineering)
Following the successful ballot result, further talks have taken place with the Company and the revised offer which has been tabled is as follows:
Year One
- Applies to Skilled Engineer Grades Only, backdated to 30th June 2024
- Shift Engineer will increase from the current £19.80 to £21.00 per hour
- Static Engineer will increase from the current £16.51 to £17.50 per hour
- Engineering Team Leader will increase from the current £20.91 to £22.50 per hour
- From Sunday 29th December 2024, a new overtime rate of time plus one third will be introduced and apply to the above rates. The time and one third overtime rate will then apply in future years unless changed through further negotiation.
Year Two
- From Sunday 29th June 2025, the basic rates will increase by 60p per hour for all skilled grades as set out below. Time and one third will apply for overtime.
- Shift Engineer will increase from the current £21.00 to £21.60 per hour
- Static Engineer will increase from the current £17.50 to £18.10 per hour
- Engineering Team Leader will increase from the current £22.50 to £23.10 per hour
- From Sunday 30th November, the basic rates will increase by 40p per hour for all skilled grades as set out below. Time and one third will apply for overtime.
- Shift Engineer will increase from the current £21.60 to £22.00 per hour
- Static Engineer will increase from the current £18.10 to £18.50 per hour
- Engineering Team Leader will increase from the current £23.10 to £23.50 per hour
- These rates will be renegotiated for the anniversary date of Sunday 28th June 2026
Non-Skilled Other Rates
- For four roles not covered by skilled engineer or cleaner or service staff. A 6.22% increase in year one and the same RPI-linked increase in year two as applies to those other grades.
- When these rates are renegotiated in June 2026 the intention will be, unless agreed otherwise as part of the negotiation process, to have one negotiation for all the engineering grades.
The National Executive Committee has considered this matter and having noted a report received from your Lead Officer, has taken the decision to conduct an e-referendum of you and your colleagues with a recommendation that you vote ‘YES’ to accept this offer. The referendum will close at 10am on Tuesday 10th December 2024.

Members will shortly receive an email from 'RMT Referenda' which will allow you to register your vote. Please follow the instructions and make sure you complete this by no later than 10:00 hours on Tuesday 10th December 2024.
