Dear Colleagues
Rates of Pay and Conditions of Service 2024 – Caledonian MacBrayne
Referring to previous correspondence, I can report that today the union’s National Executive Committee endorsed the report from your Lead Officer, Gordon Martin. I have therefore advised the company that your union has rejected the derisory pay offer which was detailed in my earlier correspondence.
Additionally, the National Executive Committee has instructed me to advise management that this union is now in dispute with CalMac. This instruction has been carried out. I have advised CalMac that this union remains available for meaningful talks in order resolve this dispute.
In the meantime, I urge all members to ensure that their details are up to date with the RMT. Members can contact the union if their job title, address, or workplace has recently changed. If any of these changes apply, then please contact the RMT Helpline by Email at info@rmt.org.uk; Alternatively, you can call the RMT Freephone Helpline number on 0800 376 3706.
I trust this keeps you fully advised on the matter and I will, of course, update you on any further developments.
Yours sincerely
Michael Lynch
General Secretary
