Dear RMT Member,
RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2024 – FIRST SOUTH WEST
Your RMT Lead Officer and Reps have met again with the company to discuss this year’s pay award and seek a much-improved offer from the original 2% increase. The Company restated its position that due to challenging operating conditions it cannot afford to make a significant increase in rates of pay. The offers tabled at the meeting are as follows:
- A 3% uplift, with no strings attached, to all grades that fall within the bargaining unit
OR
- A 4% uplift for Drivers only on the basis of a flat headline rate, no pound paid on the overtime rate. All other grades as above, a 3% uplift with no strings attached
Your Union advised that neither offer would be acceptable as they both fall far short of members’ realistic aspirations and raised a number of points for the Company to explore with a view to improving the percentage increase.
The National Executive Committee has noted the above and that we are seeking further talks with the Company to reach an acceptable agreement. I will keep you advised of all further developments.
Yours sincerely
Michael Lynch
General Secretary
