Rates of Pay and Conditions of Service 2024 – First South West

 

This week your RMT negotiating team have been in efforts to hold talks with the Company aimed at resolving this dispute and averting the strike action due to commence from Tuesday 23^rd July. However, the Company has taken steps to dither and delay any talks and has instead inflamed the situation by sending a What’s App communication to you and your colleagues asking whether or not you wish to accept any of the previously tabled pay offers.

 

It is abundantly clear from the referendum result and the ballot result that you have rejected the offers. The message from First South West is also an unlawful breach of our collective bargaining agreement and I have demanded that the Company returns to talks immediately to seek a negotiated settlement with RMT as the recognised trade union. I also ask members to not engage with this survey and await further updates from RMT.

 

Talks are continuing today and this matter has been considered by the National Executive Committee, which has noted the legal position and will consider the matter again after the meeting today.

 

The strike action remains on and all First South West members are instructed to take strike action and NOT TO BOOK ON for any shifts that commence between:

 

• 00:01 hours on Tuesday 23^rd July 2024 until 23:59 hours on Wednesday 24^th July 2024
