Rates of Pay and Conditions of Service 2024 – Freightliner Ltd (Ex-Railports)
The union's negotiating team has attended a series of meetings with the company and at the conclusion of these talks the following offer has been tabled:
Year One (1st January 2024 to 4th January 2025)
- No increase to basic pay or allowances
Year Two (5th January 2025 to 31st December 2025)
Doncaster
- 5x “Railports Operative” to align to the terms of the Freightliner Ltd MSO Agreement 2005 (and as amended). Job title to change to “Multi-Skilled Operative”, no changes to current job description.
- 1x “Railports Operator” – to align to the terms of the Freightliner Ltd MSO Agreement 2005 (and as amended). Job title to change to “Multi-Skilled Operative”, no changes to current job description.
- 3x “Railports Shift Controller” – assimilate to Rail Supervisor 2 grade, and associated job description
- 1x “Terminal Operations Manager” – assimilate to Rail Supervisor 1 grade, and associated job description
- Site Local Working Instructions and practices to continue unaffected and to be adhered to at all times.
Bristol
- 15x LGV Drivers to align to the terms of the Freightliner Ltd LGV Agreement 2011 (and as amended). The basic working week will switch from 40 basic hours, plus 10 guaranteed overtime hours, to 35 basic hours, plus 15 guaranteed overtime hours.
- 4x Clerical & Supervisory Staff – all to move from basic 40-hour week to 35 hour week
- 1x Administrator – to align to Freightliner CO3 terms.
- 1x Road Driver Supervisor – to align to Freightliner Road Supervisor (C) terms.
- 1x Road Transport Operator – to align to Freightliner CO4 terms.
- 1x Transport Planner – to align to Freightliner CO3 terms.
The following items also apply:
- Entry into the DB Pension Scheme from 5th January 2025, ex-Freightliner Railports Ltd employees will be eligible to join the Railway Pension Defined Benefit scheme, subject to having 3 years’ continuous service.
- Employees with less than 3 years’ service at the above date will continue to be eligible to join the IWDC scheme, and on reaching 3 years’ service may then opt to join the DB scheme.
- From 5th January 2025 the following company sick pay entitlements will apply: This is calculated on a 52-week rolling cycle. Where eligible for company sick pay this remains payable from the first day of the sickness absence.

The union’s National Executive Committee has considered this matter and has noted the report from your Regional Organiser and the recommendation of your negotiating team. Therefore, I have been instructed to conduct an e-referendum. The union’s National Executive Committee is recommending members vote ‘YES’ to accept the offer.
The online referendum will close at 10am on Thursday 28th November 2024.
