Dear RMT member

RATES OF PAY & CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2024 – KEOLIS AMEY DOCKLANDS

Negotiations were held between your union and KAD with regards to this year’s pay anniversary. Following negotiations, the company tabled the following offer, effective from 1st April 2024:

  • An unconditional increase in basic rates of pay of 4.3% for employees with salaries of £45,000 and above
  • An unconditional increase in basic rate of pay of £2,000 for employees with salaries under £45,000. This does not apply to PSA trainees who will get the full benefit once training is completed

In addition, the company offer the following:

  • Review of how company maternity pay is paid to eligible employees to offer more flexibility in how overall payment is receive
  • Review of how additional week’s company paternity leave is taken by eligible employees to offer more flexibility
  • In the event that KeolisAmey Docklands are awarded the new franchise we have given an undertaking that we will review changing our current Defined Contribution Stakeholder Pension Scheme with the aim of providing members of the scheme more flexibility and options

Your representatives consulted widely with you and your colleagues and a meeting of all RMT reps at KAD was convened. It was stated that members were conscious that KAD was in its final year of the franchise and that it would not discuss any wider issues relating to terms and conditions that could impact on a future successful bidder for the franchise.

The view of members was that the offer should be accepted, as the overall value is above RPI for March 2024 and is 1.3% above the most recently published RPI level. Additionally, the lowest paid members will receive a £2K uplift amounting to 5.7%.

The matter was considered by your union’s National Executive Committee, which endorsed the recommendation to accept.

I have therefore advised the company of our acceptance and requested that the new rates and backdated payments be implemented as soon as possible.

Yours sincerely

Michael Lynch
