Rates of Pay and Conditions of Service 2024 - OCS (Alstom Avanti West Coast Contract)
The union’s negotiating team has attended meetings with the company and at the conclusion of these talks the following offer has been tabled:
- A pay uplift to all employees of the Real and London Living Wage (i.e. £12 per hour for the Real Living Wage and £13.15 per hour for the London Living Wage).
- For those colleagues currently paid above the Real Living Wage (i.e. Team Leaders and Supervisors), they will receive on average a 5% uplift in pay. This is due to the sizeable differentials already place and to provide a degree harmonisation of pay across individuals performing the same roles at different locations (i.e. standard rates of pay for Team Leaders and Supervisors, noting the additional weightings for London centric positions).
- Sick Pay: Full Hourly Rate for two weeks for an accident at work reported as RIDDOR not covered by a Personal Injury Claim. Supporting Documentation must be provided upon request to approve payment.
- Equalities Reps: RMT Reps that attend the relevant advisory committees will be granted time off with pay to attend and also the company want those reps to attend the companies own CHROMA meetings to attend those meetings as well.
Your union’s National Executive Committee has noted a report received from your Lead Officer and taken the decision to conduct a postal referendum of affected members. Consequently, in the coming days, members will receive their referendum voting papers. When you receive your voting paper, please complete it and return it in the freepost envelope no later than first post on Thursday 9th May 2024. Additionally, the National Executive Committee are recommending that members vote to reject this offer. I must make it clear to you that a rejection of this offer will likely result in this union moving to a ballot for industrial action.
