Dear RMT Member,

 

RATES OF PAY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE 2024 – UNIPART RAIL SOUTHPORT

 

In line with Union Policy, a pay claim for an increase in pay and improved terms and conditions has been submitted to the company. Your negotiators have had talks with the company and an offer has been received for:

 

  • A 10.5% increase on base pay effective from 1st April 2024 for operational grades (including Production Operatives, Warehouse Operatives, Warehouse Administrator, QA Inspectors, Team Co-ordinators and Engineering Technicians)
  • A 4% increase on base pay effective 1st April 2024 for Toolmaker and Maintenance Engineer roles
  • Harmonisation of mid-week overtime rates for all in the collective bargaining unit: the first 2 hours paid at time and a third, and after 2 hours, paid at time and a half.
  • Extension of the morning break from 10 minutes to 15 minutes (Monday - Friday)

 

Having carefully considered the offer and the views of your Regional Organiser, the union’s National Executive Committee has instructed me to hold an e-referendum of you and your colleagues with a recommendation to vote ‘YES’ to accept the offer.

 

The referendum will close at 11:00 am on Tuesday 9th April 2024.

Members will shortly receive an email from 'RMT Referenda' which will allow you to register your vote. Please follow the instructions and make sure you complete this by no later than 11:00 am on Tuesday 9th April 2024.
