Dear Colleague,
RECOGNITION – DEEPOCEAN SUBSEA SERVICES
In relation to the above, following a very significant increase in RMT membership in recent weeks bringing a clear majority of staff into the union, I write to inform you that RMT has written to DeepOcean to formally request that your union be officially recognised for collective bargaining purposes.
In respect of this matter, I intend to keep you fully informed with all further updates and would further like to congratulate and thank RMT members at DeepOcean for your inspired efforts in organising your colleagues into the union.
In addition, I have written this morning to the Trades Union Congress (TUC) to inform them of RMT’s specific organising efforts at DeepOcean, and also of RMT’s intention to organise across the ROV Sector in general.
To these ends, I would like to take this opportunity to remind all RMT members at DeepOcean not only to continue your excellent work in recruiting and organising your colleagues into RMT, but also to ask you to spread the word about the union amongst friends and colleagues employed by other firms within the ROV Sector.
In the event that you become aware of any similar attempts to win union recognition in another firm within the sector, kindly feed this information back to your RMT Lead Officer for the Offshore Sector Ann Joss, who can be contacted on a.joss@rmt.org.ukor +447779715958.
Yours sincerely,
Michael Lynch
General Secretary
