RECOGNITION - SVITZER TERMINALS 

As per previous correspondence to you regarding recognition for collective bargaining with your employer,  I can confirm that we have received a response from your employer who have confirmed that they are prepared to accept our request for official recognition and that they are looking forward to collaborating with RMT in the future.  We are now in correspondence with your employer regarding timeframes and preparing a recognition document that will outline the areas of collective bargaining and allocation of representatives etc.

Whilst this is a welcome step forward, we must continue to develop our membership levels and strive for 100% membership in your workplace and encourage activity from members to protect and progress your terms and conditions of employment.  All members should start to discuss potential representatives so that when the recognition agreement is concluded we are able to elect workplace representatives and health and safety representatives from our membership who will represent your interests daily with full support and training from the RMT union.

The National Secretary, Darren Procter will seek to organise workplace visits to ensure that members have visibility of your elected union officials and assist in organising within your workplace.
