REDUCTION IN TICKET OFFICE HOURS – ARRIVA RAIL LONDON

Our Ref: BR2/15/4
10th December 2019

TO ALL ARRIVA RAIL LONDON MEMBERS

Dear Colleague,

BALLOT PAPERS ARRIVING THIS WEEK
MAKE SURE YOU VOTE

REDUCTION IN TICKET OFFICE HOURS – ARRIVA RAIL LONDON

Further to previous correspondence, ballot papers were sent out to your home addresses on Friday so should begin to arrive over the next few days in our dispute over the appalling cuts to ticket office hours. We must take a stand against these cuts which will have terrible consequences for safety, service and passenger accessibility across the network.

Be in no doubt that these cuts will not just effect ticket office staff. It will also have a significant knock on effect on the workload of other staff, especially front line workers who inevitably have to bear the brunt of customer complaints regarding tickets and advice when they cannot access a ticket office.

I urge all ARL members to vote overwhelmingly in favour of action to send a clear message to the company that their cuts are totally unacceptable and must be reversed. We cannot see any justification for their plans which appear to be only to save money at a time when they have literally doubled their profits in the last year!

It is vitally important to get a strong turnout in this ballot as the anti-union laws mean there are strict minimum turnouts we need to meet for a ballot to be successful. If you or any of your colleagues has not received their ballot paper by Friday 13th December please contact the helpline on 0800 376 3706, by email to info@rmt.org.uk or to the Head Office Switchboard on 0207 387 4771 and a paper will be sent to you first class.
