REDUNDANCIES – BABCOCK RAIL

Our Ref: BR4/16/3

7 August 2017

Dear colleague

REDUNDANCIES – BABCOCK RAIL

You will know that your union has been opposing Babcock Rail’s plans to cut jobs and close its Eastleigh and Newport depots. This is a ludicrous situation created by management as they know that there is still work to be carried out but they will be utilising agency staff to do it.

Despite your union’s efforts, the company is going ahead with its plans. Therefore your National Executive Committee has instructed me to ballot our members at Bristol, Eastleigh and Newport for industrial action.

Ballot papers will be despatched on Thursday 10th August and members should return their voting papers by Tuesday 22nd August 2017. If you do not receive your voting paper, or know of a colleague who has not received it, please call the freephone helpline on 0800 376 3706 or e-mail info@rmt.org.uk to request a replacement.

MAKE SURE YOU USE YOUR VOTE
VOTE ‘YES’ FOR STRIKE ACTION
‘YES’ FOR INDUSTRIAL ACTION SHORT OF A STRIKE

I will keep you advised of all further developments.

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
General Secretary
