TO ALL RMT TRAIN OPERATORS & INSTRUCTOR OPERATORS AT LEYTONSTONE
Our Ref: LUL/14/10
19th July 2018
REMOVAL OF DETRAINMENT STAFF, WATERLOO, WATERLOO & CITY LINE
Your RMT Central Line East Branch recently submitted a resolution regarding LUL’s plans to remove detrainment staff from the Waterloo and City Line at Waterloo Station and noted that this cost cutting exercise, which puts passengers’ lives at risk and puts your safety at risk, has failed before on other lines following RMT interventions.
This matter was considered by the National Executive Committee, which has taken the decision to declare a dispute situation with the Company over this issue and to ballot all Train Operator and Instructor Operator members at Leytonstone Traincrew Depot for industrial action in the form of refusing to enter the sidings to reverse until the train has been physically checked and doors closed on porter buttons as per existing arrangements.
The Company has been advised of the above and ballot papers will be posted to you and your colleagues on Thursday 26th July. The closing date for the ballot is Tuesday 14th August 2018. Please vote as soon as you receive your ballot paper and return it in the freepost envelope provided.
If you do not receive your voting paper, or know of a colleague who has not received it, please call the freephone helpline on 0800 376 3706, RMT Head Office on 0207 387 4771 to speak to the Industrial Relations Department or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org to request a replacement.
MAKE SURE YOU USE YOUR VOTE

I will keep you advised of all further developments.
