REORGANISATION, CLEANERS, NORTH POLE – ISS (HITACHI CONTRACT)

Our Ref: BR1/15/4

8 July 2019

Dear colleague

REORGANISATION, CLEANERS, NORTH POLE – ISS (HITACHI CONTRACT)

STRIKE ACTION GOES AHEAD AS PLANNED!

Since I wrote to you last Friday (5th July 2019), the company contacted your union offering further “consultations” on the imposition of the new rosters which are at the heart of this dispute.

However, as the company very well knows, RMT is not in the business of being “consulted” when our members are in dispute with their employer and, without proper negotiations and an avoidance of disputes process, such “consultations” are meaningless.

Additionally, the company has said that they will simply delay imposition of the new working arrangements if your union would suspend the planned strike action which commences at 19.59 hours tomorrow night (Tuesday 9th July 2019). The company stated quite clearly that it was not prepared to negotiate on this matter and nor would it withdraw its threat to impose the new rosters.

After seeking the views of your representatives, therefore, your union’s National Executive Committee instructed me to advise you that the strike action goes ahead. To remind you, you are instructed not to book on for any shifts which commence between:

19.59 hours on Tuesday 9th July 2019 and 19.59 hours on Thursday 11th July 2019

Your support for your union’s position up to now has been inspiring and I have no doubt that you will continue to show this support by taking industrial action from tomorrow.

UNITY IS STRENGTH!

SUPPORT THE ACTION!

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
