REORGANISATION, CLEANERS, NORTH POLE – ISS (HITACHI CONTRACT)

Our Ref: BR1/15/4

25th June 2019

Dear Colleague,

REORGANISATION, CLEANERS, NORTH POLE – ISS (HITACHI CONTRACT)

Firstly, I would like to congratulate you and your colleagues on your tremendous show of solidarity and for returning an overwhelming and unanimous vote for industrial action. You have provided the union with a huge mandate and sent the company a clear message that we will not allow them to bulldoze through their highly detrimental reorganisation proposal.

ISS from the start of this dispute has been nothing short of disgraceful. They have disregarded a principled process and have continuously undermined our recognised Trade Union. The National Executive Committee has considered this matter and has instructed me to write to the company seeking an urgent meeting to resolve this dispute. I have advised ISS that following this unanimous vote and clear indication that we are totally unhappy with their proposals, they must now immediately arrange an urgent meeting and resolve the issues at the heart of this dispute.

Furthermore, this issue was put before the Union’s Annual General Meeting 2019, where you and your colleagues were congratulated for your fantastic support. Additionally, the AGM 2019 believes that we now must act on this unanimous mandate and are calling you and your colleagues to take industrial action.

Therefore, all members are instructed not to book on for any turns commencing between:-

• 19:59 Hours on Tuesday 9th July 2019 and 19:59 hours on Thursday 11th July 2019

I urge you all to support this strike action and to stand shoulder to shoulder against this disrespectful and disgraceful company. We must not allow them to bulldoze through their reckless reorganisation proposals. I trust this keeps you fully advised and I will write to you again on any updates I receive.

UNITY IS STRENGTH
STAND SHOULDER TO SHOULDER

Yours sincerely

Mick Cash
General Secretary
