REST DAY WORKING DYNAMIC PAYMENTS – ABELLIO SCOTRAIL

To All Abellio Scotrail Conductor RMT Members

Our Ref: BR2/9/4

21st October 2021

Dear Colleague

REST DAY WORKING DYNAMIC PAYMENTS – ABELLIO SCOTRAIL

Further to my previous correspondence with regards to the above dispute, once again I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you and your colleagues for standing firm and solidly supporting the industrial action taken to date.

As you will be aware, in our pay dispute all Scotrail members have been instructed to take strike action between Monday 1st November 2021 and Friday 12th November 2021. Legally we cannot instruct members to take industrial action on two separate disputes at the same time. Therefore, we are suspending all industrial action on the rest day working disputes during the pay strike.

Therefore, the strike action called from 00.01 hours until 23.59 hours on Sunday 7th November 2021 is suspended. All other industrial action as previously notified in my correspondence dated the 8th October 2021 remains in place.

For the avoidance of any doubt, you and your colleagues are instructed not to book on for any shifts that commence between:

  • 00.01 hours until 23.59 hours on Sunday 24th October 2021
  • 00.01 hours until 23.59 hours on Sunday 31st October 2021
  • 00.01 hours until 23.59 hours on Sunday 14th November 2021
  • 00.01 hours until 23.59 hours on Sunday 21st November 2021
  • 00.01 hours until 23.59 hours on Sunday 28th November 2021

Additionally, the instruction to our Abellio Scotrail Conductor members not to work any Rest Days or undertake any Higher-Grade Duties remains in place until further notice.

Important note: the instruction to members not to work any Rest Days or undertake any Higher Grade Duties is suspended during the strike action called over pay & conditions from 00.01 hours on Monday 1st November until 23.59 hours on Friday 12th November 2021, as previously advised to all Scotrail members last week.

I ask you all to show your support and stand shoulder to shoulder during the days of industrial action. We must ensure we do not allow Scotrail to divide the workforce and demand that the company do what is fair and honour an enhanced rate for rest day working for all grades.

I trust this keeps you fully advised on the matter and I will, of course, update you on any further developments.

UNITY IS STRENGTH
SUPPORT THE INDUSTRIAL ACTION

Yours sincerely

Michael Lynch
General Secretary
