REST PERIODS, TRAIN HOSTS – SERCO CALEDONIAN SLEEPER
Voting papers for the ballot against SERCO’s lack of concern for member’s safety, wellbeing and refusal to negotiate with your union have been dispatched and should shortly be arriving.
As you are more than aware, the anti-trade union laws have made balloting incredibly difficult and it is vital that we achieve the highest possible turnout and the highest possible vote saying 'YES' for strike action and action short of a strike. We must send the company a clear message that we will not allow them to treat us with utter contempt. SERCO have had plenty of time to rectify this situation and their outright refusal to negotiate with our representatives has left us with no alternative than to ballot for industrial action.
Therefore, if you have not already returned your voting paper, please do as a matter of priority. Do not leave it too late as the ballot closes on Tuesday 15th September 2020. If you have not received your voting paper by Wednesday 2nd September 2020 then please contact the RMT Helpline by Email at email@example.com. Alternatively, you can call the RMT Freephone Helpline number on 0800 376 3706, the RMT switchboard on 0207 387 4771 and ask to speak to the Industrial Relations Department where they will arrange for a replacement ballot paper to be sent. If you are aware of a colleague who has not received their paper or has recently moved address or changed their workplace/job title then ask them to contact their union on one of the above contact methods.
I will keep members fully informed of developments.
Important Please Note: The Scrutineer for RMT Ballots and Elections is now 'Civica Election Services' and not the 'Electoral Reform Society'. Letters from Civica are not Junk Mail and should be opened.
UNITY IS STRENGTH!
VOTE 'YES' FOR STRIKE ACTION
VOTE 'YES' FOR INDUSTRIAL ACTION SHORT OF A STRIKE.
